Marshall Loves His Job

Marshall has worked for the same company almost the entire time that we have been married.  In February 2006 our life took on a dramatic challenge when he started working graveyard shifts at US Synthetic.  It was a difficult adjustment for us and the idea was that he would go to school while working there because they provided tuition assistance to their employees.  We quickly fell in love with the culture of the company and all they do to take care of their employees focusing on improving their lives.  It has provided us with so many great opportunities.  Marshall finished his schooling (both his Bachelor's and his Master's) after 6 years of working there and it has allowed him to progress and grow in the company.  This post is about a few of the great things about US Synthetic that have happened in the last few weeks.

A few weeks ago Marshall was invited to participate in an event with some of the members of the Executive team.  He felt pretty good about this until he realized that it was to sit on the seat of a dunk tank!  He decided to make it fun and dressed up for the occasion.

The teams were shooting water balloons in sling shots at the target.

At a recent Conference in Park City one of the events was a "humanitarian" event.  They had 60 "underprivileged" children come from three different elementary schools come and they got to participate in a few problem solving activities to learn problem solving skills.  At the end they had to put together a bike.  At the end they learned that the bike they had just built was actually for themselves!  These are a few pictures of them putting together the bikes....

 Crawdad Boil

Each year in May the company has a big party with bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, and of course food.  It is called the Crawdad Boil because they have crawdad shipped in from Texas.

We choose to eat the hamburgers and hot dogs instead!  A big thanks to some of our friends who helped keep an eye on Libby as Marshall had to take the girls to the party by himself this year while I was in California for a wedding!
