swimming lessons

July 22-27th Libby took swimming lessons and she loved them.
She always seems to be really cautious and doesn't want to do things that are hard.  The teacher was really great and got her to do everything.
The class before ours was a more advanced class and she would see the big kids jump off the diving board and she really really wanted to do that too.  So when it came time to jump she was fearless. Though she did have struggles going off the slide.

Libby jumping off the diving board!!

On the second to last day the teacher takes a picture of the kids underwater opening their eyes and smiling.  She was so excited that she did it.  I was proud of her.
The last day of lessons was on a Saturday and Marshall was able to come and watch her swim.   She hadn't been feeling well but still participated in everything.  She jumped off the diving board 2 times and learned how to do a sitting dive and practiced swimming on her back.

As we were walking out of the pool Libby tripped on her flip flop and face planted it right on the side walk.  She had had it.  She broke down and sobbed and we went home and cleaned her up.  She had a fat lip and swollen eye.  Needless to say she looked pretty bad.

We posted her battle wounds on facebook and sent pictures to grandparents
(she wanted someone to care) and the bishop showed up with balloons and a coloring book.
She was so happy someone validated her injury.

Now during the week of swimming I had a hard time keeping this one happy.  She was pretty peeved that every time Libby got into the pool that she didn't get to go too.  She would try and launch herself into the water, she would scream and stretch,  This one will be very ready for a mommy and me class next year.
